Gill started playing at the age of 11 at St Mary’s School, Rawtenstall. She joined Haslingden and Helmshore Band in 1969 and later moved to the Water Prize Band.
In 1982 she played with the Lancashire Constabulary Band in the Championship Section and in 1992 Gill joined the Goodshawband.
She is married to Mark, who plays Solo Horn and she is the Band Treasurer. They live in Goodshaw Fold.
